The food is so delicious and the portions are generous, I ended up ordering way more than needed and that a great thing. I asked for but free options due to allergies and the person who took my order guided me through all the options. I look forward to dining in.

I can't say enough good things about this place. The people that served us were incredibly gracious and attentive and helpful, and the food was unbelievably good. It is a huge menu and we had trouble narrowing it down to just a couple things. We had the Goanese curry shrimp and the beef vindaloo with garlic naan and a mango lassi & Indian Cheetah Mango beer, and we still had enough left over to bring home for a full meal. They have a lunch special but we wanted to order from the regular menu. We didn't know this place was even open until today, it's tucked in a little corner off Hunt Club and Bank, but we will definitely be regulars, especially now that I know that they do take out. Thanks kindly for the amazing meal!

New favorite spot for Indian food. We had the veggie pekoras with mint sauce which was so bright, and favorable with just the right amount of heat. I had the veggie korma - rich and creamy cashew sauce coated the vegetables in all the right ways. My partner had the butter chicken - best he’s had. We tried both the Nan and roti Service was excellent. Highly recommended.

Some of the best Indian food I have had in a while. Rich and flavourful curries. Large portions, fresh ingredients and the green sauce that came with the appetizers was delicious! We tried the butter chicken, shai paneer, samosas and onion bahjis. The main dishes came with rice and fresh, warm naan. The service was excellent. We didn’t feel rushed, glasses were always refilled. They were friendly and welcoming. The next time I am in town, I will be making a point to come back!

Kind welcoming servers, fantastic food, and a warm ambiance. We ordered the Paneer version of butter chicken, lamb vindaloo, lamb biryani, roti, naan, and garlic naan. My favourite was the butter paneer, so creamy and delicious!!!! The lamb in the biryani was tender and the favours were perfect! My partner and I enjoyed the naan so much we placed a second ordered. The portion sizes are generous and each main dish comes with rice, naan, or roti (you can upgrade to garlic naan for 1). The service was outstanding!! Our server was amazing, so helpful with spice level and attentive throughout the meal. Our water glasses were always full thanks to the other front of house staff. We will definitely be back for more and we highly recommend for a stellar Indian culinary experience!!

As a big fan of Indian cuisine, I was excited to find a highly rated Indian restaurant during my recent business trip to Ottawa. After some searching, I came across Sona, and I’m glad I did...it was a fantastic experience. For my meal, I ordered the Lamb Rogan Josh with Jeera Rice, accompanied by a Raita as an appetizer and a Mango Lassi to drink. Every item was perfectly prepared rich in flavor, beautifully balanced, and among the best Indian dishes I’ve ever had. They also kindly served a complimentary appetizer a crispy cracker paired with a delicious homemade herbal chutney which was a thoughtful touch. The service was excellent. My hostess , Harmen, was warm, attentive, and welcoming, always with a kind smile that made the experience even more pleasant. The food arrived quickly, the prices were reasonable, and the restaurant itself was clean and cozy. I’ll definitely be returning to explore more of the menu.
